This oblong-shaped dish is reminiscent of the architecture of the pirogues used on the river to trade and fish. It represents the extension of the food circuit, whether to satisfy the immediate needs of human nourishment or those of the ancestors with whom Melanesians maintain a permanent relationship. This dish is adorned with crocodile sculptures at either end, the saurian’s mouth bound by a stylized human form. Price: €500
