This mask depicts a grimacing human face, with protruding cheekbones.
The open mouth reveals a row of teeth, and the eyes and nose are pierced.
Four holes for a lanyard.
This type of mask was worn by shamans, who undoubtedly performed rituals to heal the sick, influence the heavens or promote hunting.
A mask of similar characteristics carved from spruce is preserved at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau (Quebec) under Inventory: PfFm-1:1728 a
