This mask representing an ancestral spirit is typical of Inupiak art.

Oval-shaped, with elongated almond-shaped eyes and a smiling mouth.

It is to be compared with a mask shown in a photograph taken before 1929 and now in the Sheldon Jackson Museum, Sitka (Inv n°SJ-II-K-41).
