This cane has a cylindrical knob decorated with interlacing.
The handle is engraved vertically and alternately with snakes and squid.

Canes are extremely rare in the Massim region, making it difficult to locate them geographically.
However, the engraved squid decoration on this cane, found on the lintels of chiefs’ houses and on the decoration of Trobriand Island shields, suggests that it was made on these islands.
This is the only cane of this type known from Harry Beran.
