Representing a male ancestor crowned by the sculpture of a totemic bird representing the hornbill, this ceremonial staff, with its slender verticality, features a skilful play of structured planes on its surface, giving the whole a beautiful dynamic accentuated by traces of black, ochre and yellow pigments
