Known as iqalujaq, the lure was a fishing object. It takes the shape of a small fish. A hole is made in the end to attach the lure to the line.

In addition to angling, it was also used for spearfishing, the lure being waved with one hand to attract the fish, the other hand throwing the spear.

It can also be attached to a kayak as a fishing charm.
