This wrist protector, with its dark patina typical of objects extracted from the permafrost, is decorated with openwork lines and dots.

Wristguards were introduced to the Bering Strait and Alaska from Siberia in the early Punuk period, along with string bows, until the Thule period.

They were used to protect against the snap of the bowstring after the arrow was released.
