This type of mask, worn on the head, was held by the dancer with two strings. The frame is made of split bamboo, tied together and then covered with spider webs. Four faces are modelled from a coating of liana slurry mixed with coconut milk and seawater.
It bears paintings representing the identifying signs attributed to each individual in the clan. The making of these masks is considered a secret; they are used only once during the dance for which they were made.
